We stopped in Jackson, Wyoming to do a little shopping and visit the city square in the center of town. We’d been there on a ski trip years ago so we knew it existed. The four corners of the park have arches made of elk antlers (none were harmed) and there were fun wild west things to see.
I’m still blown away by all the scenery with ever-changing views. The fields are expansive and then the mountains appear.

Gorgeous! I wanna have mountain air!
Beautiful photos Debi. Keep them coming!
Ah, I imagine you continued on I-80 from Elk Mountain. If I had been more on the ball, I would have suggested an alternate route to Jackson, through the near-ghost uranium boom-to-bust town of Jeffrey City, home of the Split Rock Cafe and the Monk King Bird pottery shop. A super-unique experience and Byron’s pottery is amazing. I am pretty sure you have seen the two pieces I bought there. See pictures in my blog (https://sethcycling.blogspot.com/2011/06/ggt-day-7-rawlins-to-jeffrey-city.html). Maybe on the way back you can catch it, but I suspect you will loop back home along a very different route. Oh well. My bad.
I sure do remember that pottery of yours. In fact after I saw it I tried combining two clay bodies to get a similar effect.
Right… our return takes us all the way down California from Bellingham WA in early July.
