Whitehorse is the capital of the Yukon Territory. Most of the people in YT live here. We have reservations for two nights at a fine campground which meant we didn’t have to drive any distance today, a nice break.
Yesterday we walked all around, watched a video about the SS Klondike, a steamship important to travel years and years ago. We walked alongside the river and went into an artist gallery. It was also the necessary day for laundry and showers.
Today we enjoyed a 9-hole disc golf course. Steve plays and I walk ahead to keep an eye out for where the disc lands. I’m very happy with my trusty hiking boots and walking sticks.
We walked around the small Main Street and saw some interesting things at a huge sport store where the hockey sticks and anti bear products were something unusual to see!
We bought a YT magnet for our collection, had a great salad at a cafe and strolled along the riverfront at the weekly Fireweed Community market. The sun was shining, 75 degrees out and people were happy with that.

Beautiful pics! I love that plane!
Yeah! When we drove by I thought I had seen it in a different position. Then to find out it’s the largest weather vane!
So glad you are well past Montana and missed those awful floods around Yellowstone.
Yes! That is so tragic about such a wondrous place.
More great adventures and pics! Hope it’s up to your travel expectations – sure looks like it is. Love that you can ‘share’ your adventure with us – continued fun and safe travels.

Nice to be in the YT with you. Did you feel like you had stepped back in time?
Debi, do you mind if I share your post with our friend who use to fly north every year in their plane the same places you are traveling. She is 93 years old now and would love to see your pictures.
Sure. That sounds good to share with her
