Canada

First of all I want to thank everyone for your comments. I don’t know if you can see them all but Steve and I really appreciate knowing that you are seeing and liking the blog and the photos! So here goes some more…

We entered Canada on Sunday, June 5th. There was a long line (no bison holding us up here, only slow passing through the border). After waiting an hour and answering all the questions right we then had to park, go inside, and register for ArriveCAN approval that we’ve been fully vaccinated. That took another hour.

Moving along the open road with scenery that looked the same as what we’ve been seeing, we got to JJ’s RV Resort. Yeah, a resort that is another parking lot with RVs lined up that look like the residents live there and work in the towns. They came home after work with their trucks. The skies opened up as soon as we arrived so we had to wait to hook up until the rain abated.

The next day we drove to Banff, a sweet town in the mountains with lots of shopping and restaurants and a large, well-planned campground up Tunnel Mountain. We arrived early so had plenty of time to drive to Lake Louise. It’s not what I’ve seen in pictures as the sky was overcast and the lake was icy. There were many tourists from all over the world walking around.

Daffodils
Magpie
Lilacs with no aroma. Disappointing
Rental camper vans!

The next day we checked out and visited the small town of Canmore which we heard was so beautiful as it is surrounded by mountains. The day was totally overcast so the mountains barely peeked out. We did have fun walking and shopping and enjoying some sights.

Four season murals

I do like fancy manhole covers

We continued back-tracking to the south and east to Calgary because we’ve been having some problems with Harvey. Way back in Tulsa we had a mobile repair guy diagnose that the problem was with our inverter so we ordered the part to be shipped to an RV dealer in Calgary and made an appointment for when it would work well in our schedule. And just yesterday when we arrived the water pump stopped working. We spent the night in their lot with water and electric hook ups and checked Harvey in right when they opened. Right now it’s being worked on and it will take all day. We’ll probably borrow their loaner car and go to the nearby vibrant mall for lunch and walking around.

Our home for last night and probably tonight.
